Children's Art Lessons

I offer relaxed, one-to-one art lessons for children who enjoy being creative and would like to develop their drawing skills, confidence, and imagination.

These sessions are ideal for young artists who love sketching characters, animals, or their favourite subjects and want to learn more about drawing techniques, shading, colouring, and bringing their ideas to life on paper.

Each lesson is gently guided and tailored to your child’s interests. Whether they enjoy cartoon characters, wildlife or imaginative drawings, we explore simple art techniques such as breaking drawings down into shapes, creating light and shadow, and building colour in layers.

For children who prefer crafting and making rather than traditional drawing, sessions can also be tailored to include creative craft projects, mixed media, and hands-on art activities. The aim is always to make the experience engaging, confidence-building, and enjoyable.

Sessions are typically most suitable for primary school aged children, but can be adapted depending on the child’s interests and confidence.

What to expect from a session

Each lesson lasts around one hour and includes a mixture of guided learning and creative freedom.

A typical session might include:

  • A quick warm-up sketch

  • Learning a new drawing technique or skill

  • Creating a drawing or artwork based on the child’s interests

  • Gentle guidance on shading, colouring, and improving details

Children may also be given a small “sketch challenge” for the week, helping them build confidence and see their progress over time.

Pricing

£25 per hour (individual lesson)

£95 for a 4-week block booking

Lessons usually take place weekly, helping children build their skills gradually while keeping things fun and relaxed.
